There are a lot of issues with manually restarting self-stopped agents. Below are some of them:
- In a non-persistent VDI environment, if agent self-stops and user logs off, we won't be able to collect data on the next user who is going to use that machine. This is because the management server won't allow that agent to reconnect.
- We can't spend time everyday trying to restart self-stopped agents
- 90% of the time, we don't care about why the agent stopped. So it is pointless to investigate. A better approach would be to tally the number of self-stops that happened on a specific machine and if that is too high, then we will investigate.
